Getting Started: First-Time Setup (cPanel & Plesk)
After purchasing a hosting plan from HostPalace Global, you can begin setting up your website using either cPanel or Plesk. This guide provides step-by-step instructions to help you get started quickly and confidently.
Setting Up with cPanel
- Log in to cPanel
Access your cPanel via the Client Portal at https://host-palace.com/clientarea or use the login link provided in your welcome email.
- Upload Your Website Files
Use the File Manager or connect via FTP to upload your website files to the public_html directory.
- Create an Email Account
Navigate to "Email Accounts" and set up your domain-based email address.
- Set Up a Database
Use the MySQL Database Wizard to create a database and user for platforms like WordPress.
- Install an SSL Certificate
Go to the "SSL/TLS" section to install a free or purchased SSL certificate for your domain.
- Launch Your Website
Once your files and database are configured, your website should be live and accessible.
Setting Up with Plesk
- Log in to Plesk
Use the login link provided in your welcome email or access it through your HostPalace dashboard.
- Add Your Domain
Go to "Websites & Domains" and click "Add Domain." Enter your domain name and hosting settings.
- Upload Website Files
Use the File Manager or FTP to upload your files to the httpdocs directory.
- Create Email Accounts
Navigate to the "Mail" section and set up your domain email addresses.
- Install SSL and Security Tools
Use the "SSL/TLS Certificates" section to install and manage your SSL certificate. Enable security extensions if needed.
- Install a CMS (Optional)
Use the "Applications" tab to install WordPress, Joomla, or other platforms with one click.
Tips for a Smooth Setup
- Use strong passwords for all accounts and databases.
- Enable regular backups to protect your data.
- Allow time for DNS propagation if your domain was recently registered or updated.
